It was launched on February 14, 2004, and is operated by the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN), a non-profit grantee of the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which also oversees Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Free Asia, and other international broadcasters.
