Avraham "Yair" Stern (Hebrew: אברהם שטרן, pronounced Shtern); December 23, 1907 – February 12, 1942) was a militant Zionist leader and the founder of Lehi, a paramilitary group that split from the Irgun and was pejoratively known by its opponents as the "Stern Gang." His radical and violent opposition to British rule of Palestine, including an unsuccessful attempt during World War II to negotiate a military alliance with Nazi Germany, made him a dissident figure within the Yishuv.

Avraham "Yair" Stern (Hebrew: אברהם שטרן, pronounced Shtern); December 23, 1907 – February 12, 1942) was a militant Zionist leader and the founder of Lehi, a paramilitary group that split from the Irgun and was pejoratively known by its opponents as the "Stern Gang." His radical and violent opposition to British rule of Palestine, including an unsuccessful attempt during World War II to negotiate a military alliance with Nazi Germany, made him a dissident figure within the Yishuv. He was captured and killed by the Palestine Police Force in 1942.
