Babylon (symbol)

Machine-translated from the Swedish article

The symbol Babylon often stands for a corrupt social system. The word has become synonymous with oppression and also serves as a collective term for materialism, egoism, prejudice, and everything that suppresses personal freedom and true spirituality. Historical Babylonia was a magnificent civilization with beautiful temples, hanging gardens, and a rich culture and science; the negative use of the word has its origin in the Bible.
