Captain Cold (Leonard Snart) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, the character first appeared in Showcase #8 (June 1957). In his comic book appearances, Captain Cold is depicted as an adversary of various superheroes known as the Flash, most notably Barry Allen, and serves as the leader of the Rogues, a loose criminal association. In The New 52 continuity reboot, Captain Cold and his team live by a code that forbids killing. The character has been substantially adapted from the comics into various forms of media, including television series and video games. Actor Wentworth Miller portrayed Captain Cold in The CW's Arrowverse television series The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. In 2009, Captain Cold was ranked as IGN’s 27th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.
