Docklands Stadium

Docklands Stadium (known under naming rights as Marvel Stadium) is a stadium located in the Melbourne suburb of Docklands. It is primarily used for Australian rules football as the home ground of several teams in the Australian Football League (AFL). The stadium was built at a cost of A$460 million and opened in 2000 as a replacement for Waverley Park. Offices at the precinct serve as the headquarters of the AFL, which had exclusive ownership of the venue since October 2016. The stadium features a retractable roof and the ground level seating can be converted from oval to rectangular configuration. The stadium hosts a total capacity of 56,347 spectators, being reduced to 47,000 when playing cricket and in rectangular mode. The Walt Disney Company subsidiary Marvel Comics have owned naming rights to the stadium since 2018. The stadium has been used as a significant home ground for cricket, soccer, rugby union, and rugby league teams, including the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League (BBL) from 2011 until 2026 and Melbourne Victory FC in the A-League from 2006 until 2021.
