Duiker

A duiker (IPA: ) is a small to medium-sized antelope native to sub-Saharan Africa. Most species are forest-dwelling, while the common duiker is the only bush duiker and occupies savannas. The 22 extant species, including three that are sometimes treated as subspecies, form the tribe Cephalophini (formerly classified as the subfamily Cephalophinae). Duikers are shy, generally solitary animals adapted to moving through dense cover. Although primarily browsers, they also eat fruit and occasionally animal matter. They act as seed dispersers, and many species are threatened by habitat loss and overhunting for bushmeat.
