High Crimes is a 2002 American legal thriller film directed by Carl Franklin, written by Yuri Zeltser and Grace Cary Bickley, and starring Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman. Adapted from Joseph Finder's 1998 novel of the same name, High Crimes follows defense attorney Claire Kubik (Judd) as she teams up with a seasoned military attorney (Freeman) to expose a cover-up while defending her husband who is charged with the murder of nine civilians in El Salvador and revealed to have been living under a false identity.
