Holungen is a village and a former municipality in the district of Eichsfeld in Thuringia, Germany. Since 1 December 2011, it is part of the municipality Sonnenstein, of which it is an Ortschaft. It lies approximately 35 km (22 mi) from the university town of Göttingen.

It lies approximately 35 km (22 mi) from the university town of Göttingen. With a population of around 1,000, it is one of the medium-sized villages in the district.
