Holzklafter

Machine-translated from the German article

Holzklafter (in spoken language in particular also in the form Klafter Holz) is a unit of volume for (fire) wood in Germany and Switzerland with regionally differing definitions, where in current usage the Klafter Holz is commonly understood to mean a quantity of about 3 stere or cubic metres (rm) of wood. In southern Germany and the rest of the German-speaking Alpine region, the Holzklafter as a unit of measurement is still widespread in many places today.
