Jackson Volney Scholz was an American sprinter and author. In the 1928 Olympics, he became the first person to appear in a sprint final in three different games. He financed his training for the 1924 Paris Olympics and beyond with his writing, which led to a half-century-long career as a popular pulp writer and novelist, primarily of juvenile sports fiction. Late in life, he was portrayed in the award-winning film about the 1924 games, Chariots of Fire (1981).
