The Jogye Order (Korean: 조계종), officially the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism (대한불교조계종), is a sect of Korean Buddhism. It is the largest Buddhist sect in South Korea as of 2018. It has its roots in the nine mountain schools of Unified Silla and developed under Jinul during the Goryeo dynasty.

The Jogye Order (Korean: 조계종), officially the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism (대한불교조계종), is a sect of Korean Buddhism. It is the largest Buddhist sect in South Korea as of 2018. It has its roots in the nine mountain schools of Unified Silla and developed under Jinul during the Goryeo dynasty. Despite suppression during the Joseon dynasty and Japanese colonial period, it survived and its modern form was established in 1962. The order's principal scripture is the Diamond Sutra and its followers practice ganhwaseon meditation, while it also accepts other Buddhist practices. Today, it operates 25 parishes and promotes Korean Buddhism globally through programs such as Templestay. However, it has faced controversies involving misconduct of some monks.
