Marcaria borders the following municipalities: Acquanegra sul Chiese, Borgo Virgilio, Bozzolo, Castellucchio, Curtatone, Gazoldo degli Ippoliti, Gazzuolo, Redondesco, San Martino dall'Argine, Viadana. The Renaissance writer Baldassarre Castiglione was born at Casatico in 1478.
