Boundaries of the district (Indonesian: kecamatan): To the north: Medan Kota Belawan To the south: Medan Deli To the west: Medan Marelan To the east: Deli Serdang Regency At the 2010 Census, it had a population of 111,173 inhabitants, while at the 2020 Census this had risen to 133,765; the latest official estimate (as at mid 2023) is 140,325 (comprising 70,960 males and 69,365 females).
