Mewtwo

Mewtwo ( ; Japanese: ミュウツー, Hepburn: Myūtsū) is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon media franchise. It was first introduced in the video games Pokémon Red and Blue, and later appeared in subsequent sequels and spin-off titles. In the video games, the player can fight and capture Mewtwo in order to subsequently pit it against other Pokémon. Often referred to as "the world's strongest Pokémon" in various media, it was the strongest in the original games in terms of base statistic distribution. Being genetically engineered by humans, it is known as the "Genetic Pokémon". One of the most recognizable characters of the franchise, it has appeared in various media, being a central character in the films Pokémon: The First Movie, Pokémon: Mewtwo Returns, Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened, Detective Pikachu, as well as the musical Pokémon Live!. Additionally, Mewtwo has featured in other game franchises, such as Super Smash Bros. series.
