The New Sensibility (Hebrew: הרגישות החדשה, romanized: HaRagishut HaHadasha) was an Israeli film movement active during the 1960s and 1970s. It was the Israeli filmmaker's response to world art film. During this period, around fifty films produced were associated with the movement. The movement was characterised by its focus on individual autonomy and its embrace of reflexivity and auteur-driven storytelling. It was also a departure from Israeli cinema up to that point, which had largely focused on nation-building, Zionism, collectivism and Socialist ideals. It was influenced by modern European cinema, particularly the French New Wave and Italian Neorealism.
