Nueva Ecija, officially the Province of Nueva Ecija, is a landlocked province in the Philippines. It is located in the Central Luzon region. Its capital is the city of Palayan. Its former capital is Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija's largest city and its economic, commercial, and institutional center. Nueva Ecija borders the provinces of Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Vizcaya, Pampanga, Pangasinan, and Tarlac. It is nationally known as the Rice Granary of the Philippines, as it produces the largest yield of rice in the Philippines.
