Pseudoregalia

Pseudoregalia is a 2023 platform game by indie developer rittzler. The player controls Sybil, an anthropomorphic goat-like creature, who finds herself trapped in a castle in a dream realm. It is stylistically influenced by fifth generation era video games of the late 1990s, and makes use of low-poly graphics. Originally developed in early 2023 for a game jam, Pseudoregalia was released on Steam in July of the same year, where it sold over 28,000 copies within 3 months and received acclaim from reviewers and games journalists. In the game, Sybil is oringinally tasked with an unclear goal, with the only direction being to rescue a princess trapped in a tower. Gameplay involves traversing a 3D environment by using various movement abilities like jumping and sliding, with more abilities unlocked through progression in the style of a metroidvania game. Sybil occasionally has to fight enemies using her sword and later a magic attack.
