Ryutaro Umeno (梅野 隆太郎, Umeno Ryūtarō; born June 17, 1991 in Fukuoka, Japan) is a Japanese professional baseball catcher for the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Since joining the Tigers, he was given the nickname "Ume-chan". His throw is referred to by commentators as the 'Ume-chan Bazooka' due to its accuracy and power.
