Lieutenant General Yogesh Kumar Joshi, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VrC, SM, ADC (born 5 January 1962) is a former general officer of the Indian Army. He last served as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command. He earlier served as the Chief of staff of the Northern Command, and commanded the Leh-based Fire & Fury Corps. During the Kargil War, he was awarded the Vir Chakra for his command of the 13th Battalion, The Jammu and Kashmir Rifles which captured the strategically vital Point 5140. He is currently the Director General of the Center for Contemporary China Studies, a think-tank of the Government of India functioning under the Ministry of External Affairs.
