Grannus

Grannus (also Grannos) was an ancient Celtic healing god associated with springs and curative waters. He was worshipped in Gaul, the two Germanies, Raetia and the Danube provinces, with scattered dedications from Britain, Hispania, Rome and beyond the Rhine frontier. In the Roman period he was most often identified with Apollo through the interpretatio romana and appears in inscriptions as Apollo Grannus. His usual companion was the goddess Sirona. He is named in about thirty Latin dedications, in a Greek honorific inscription from Ephesus, and by the historian Cassius Dio, who records that the emperor Caracalla sought his aid.
