The 2014 Hell in a Cell was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event produced by WWE. It was the sixth annual Hell in a Cell event and took place on October 26, 2014, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The event centered on the men's Hell in a Cell match, a 20-foot-high roofed steel cage that surrounds the ring and ringside area with no countouts or disqualifications and the only way to win is by pinfall or submission in the ring. Eight matches were contested on the main card while one match took place on the Kickoff pre-show. The card featured two Hell in a Cell matches, where in the main event, Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose, and on the undercard, John Cena defeated Randy Orton to secure a future WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. This was the first Hell in a Cell event to livestream on the WWE Network, which launched in February. The event had 83,000 pay-per-view buys (excluding WWE Network views), down from the previous year's 228,000 buys. It was also the second Hell in a Cell event to be held at the American Airlines Center, after the 2010 event.
