Mary Yasuko Fujishima (Japanese: 藤島メリー泰子, Hepburn: Fujishima Merī Yasuko; December 26, 1927 – August 14, 2021), also known professionally by her birth name, Mary Kitagawa (メリー 喜多川, Merī Kitagawa), was a Japanese businessperson and promoter. Fujishima was the vice president of Johnny & Associates, a talent agency founded by her younger brother Johnny Kitagawa, from its foundation in 1962 to 2019. After 2019, she retired and became the honorary chairperson of Johnny & Associates until her death in 2021. Fujishima's aggressive business practices were credited for the success of Johnny & Associates, including the development of the fan clubs of their boy bands. She was the manager of Johnnys and Four Leaves; she was also influential in the development of boy bands such as Tanokin Trio, Shibugakitai, Hikaru Genji, SMAP, Tokio, and Arashi. Nicknamed the company's "matriarch", Fujishima was known for being protective over the company's image and would combat any unfavorable media coverage, including covering up the sexual abuse scandal of Johnny Kitagawa throughout his lifetime.
