Nathan Cleary (born 14 November 1997) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who co-captains and plays as a halfback for the Penrith Panthers in the NRL. Widely considered one of the best players in the modern era, Cleary was halfback in five consecutive grand finals from 2020–2024.

Nathan Cleary (born 14 November 1997) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who co-captains and plays as a halfback for the Penrith Panthers in the NRL. Widely considered one of the best players in the modern era, Cleary was halfback in five consecutive grand finals from 2020–2024. He was co-captain in four straight grand finals wins (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) and received the Clive Churchill Medal as man of the match in the 2021 and 2023 grand finals. Cleary was awarded Dally M Halfback of The Year in 2020, 2021, and 2025. He was also awarded the Wally Lewis Medal as player of the 2026 State of Origin series series and became New South Wales highest all-time points scorer. Cleary was a part of New South Wales 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2026 State of Origin series wins and was the vice-captain of New South Wales from 2020 to 2025. He has represented Australia at international level, winning the 2021 Rugby League World Cup and the 2025 Rugby League Ashes series. He represented City NSW in 2017.
