Paul Baltes

Paul B. Baltes (18 June 1939 – 7 November 2006) was a German developmental psychologist who researched life-span development and aging. He is credited with developing theories about lifespan-development, successful aging, and wisdom, and the "selective optimization with compensation theory" of compensating decline in aging by focussing on strengths.
