Umerkot (Urdu: عمرکوٹ; Dhatki: عمرڪوٽ; Sindhi: عمرڪوٽ; Urdu pronunciation: [ʊmərkoːʈ], formerly known as Amarkot) is a city in the Thar Region of the Sindh province of Pakistan. The Mughal emperor Akbar was born in Amarkot in 1542.

Umerkot (Urdu: عمرکوٹ; Dhatki: عمرڪوٽ; Sindhi: عمرڪوٽ; Urdu pronunciation: [ʊmərkoːʈ], formerly known as Amarkot) is a city in the Thar Region of the Sindh province of Pakistan. The Mughal emperor Akbar was born in Amarkot in 1542. The Hindu folk deities Pabuji and Ramdev are traditionally said to have married in Umerkot. The local language is Dhatki, one of the Rajasthani languages of the Indo-Aryan language family. It is most closely related to Marwari.
