Hazara

Hazara (Hindko: هزاره; Urdu: ہزارہ), large parts of which were known as Pakhli Sarkar, is a region in northern Pakistan. It forms the northernmost portion of Sindh Sagar Doab, and is mainly populated by the indigenous Hindko-speaking Hindkowans, known as the Hazarewal.

Hazara (Hindko: هزاره; Urdu: ہزارہ), large parts of which were known as Pakhli Sarkar, is a region in northern Pakistan. It forms the northernmost portion of Sindh Sagar Doab, and is mainly populated by the indigenous Hindko-speaking Hindkowans, known as the Hazarewal. The Hazara region encompasses the former Hazara District, consisting principally of present-day Abbottabad, Haripur and Mansehra districts. Historically, adjoining territories including Kohistan, Allai and the Black Mountain (present-day Torghar) lay beyond the region's boundaries; these territories were subsequently incorporated later to form the modern administrative Hazara Division.
