Korea's first television broadcaster
HLKZ-TV, better known as the Daehan Broadcasting Company (DBC), was the first television station in South Korea. It was established by the Korean RCA Distribution Company (KORCAD) and was later handed over to local interests. A fire in 1959 damaged the station's finances and was subsequently closed.

It was established by the Korean RCA Distribution Company (KORCAD) and was later handed over to local interests. A fire in 1959 damaged the station's finances and was subsequently closed. The Korean Broadcasting System later acquired its frequency to create its own channel in 1961.
