Methyprylon (INN) or methyprylone (USAN) is a soporific drug of the piperidinedione chemical class. Developed by Hoffmann-La Roche during the 1950s, it was marketed in the United States under the trade name Noludar and used primarily for the treatment of insomnia as a nonbarbiturate hypnotic. According to the Encyclopedia of Toxicology (2005), methyprylon was withdrawn from the United States market in 1988.
