Pompeiopolis (Greek: Πομπηιούπολις, city of Pompeius) was an important and rich Roman city located in Paphlagonia. It is 40km north-east of Kastamonu in the Black Sea region of Turkey. It lies a short distance across the river from modern Taşköprü in the valley of the Gök River (Greek: Αμνίας, Amnías).

Pompeiopolis (Greek: Πομπηιούπολις, city of Pompeius) was an important and rich Roman city located in Paphlagonia. It is 40km north-east of Kastamonu in the Black Sea region of Turkey. It lies a short distance across the river from modern Taşköprü in the valley of the Gök River (Greek: Αμνίας, Amnías). The borders of Pompeiopolis reached the Küre mountains to the north, the Ilgaz mountains to the south, the Halys river to the east and the Pınarbaşı valley to the west. The city is still being excavated revealng rich buildings.
