Ariel Rubinstein (Hebrew: אריאל רובינשטיין; born April 13, 1951) is a Professor Emeritus of Economics at Tel Aviv University and a Professor of Economics at New York University. His primary research focuses on economic theory, specifically game theory, bounded rationality, choice theory, economics and language, and experimental economics. Rubinstein is a recipient of the Israel Prize (2002), a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and a foreign member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the British Academy. Politically, Rubinstein holds a left-wing Zionist worldview, which he frequently expresses in his publicistic writing.
