Primetime is a 2026 American biographical psychological thriller film directed by Lance Oppenheim in his narrative feature film debut. Based on the 2007 Esquire article "Tonight on Dateline This Man Will Die", the film follows the production of the reality television series To Catch a Predator. Robert Pattinson stars as series host Chris Hansen, and also serves as a producer. Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers play supporting roles. The film premiered in the main competition of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival on September 5, 2026, where it competed for the Golden Lion. It will be released theatrically in the United States on September 25. The film received positive reviews from critics, with high praise for Pattinson's performance and Oppenheim's direction.
