Single-rope technique
Climbing technique where a single rope is used to ascend and descend safely
Single-rope technique (SRT) is a set of methods used to ascend and descend a single fixed rope length, commonly used in caving, rock climbing, canyoning, roped access for building maintenance, and by arborists for tree climbing. To avoid confusion in the tree climbing community, it is occasionally referred to as "stationary" rope technique.
