Tuvan throat singing, also known as Mongolian throat singing, is a style of throat singing, the main technique of which is known as khoomei ( or ). It is practiced by people in Tuva, Mongolia, Inner Mongolia and Altay. Tuvan throat singing is noted for including overtone singing or undertone singing, depending on technique. In 2009, Tuvan throat singing was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO.
